A 67-year-old man was performed parotidectomy and was diagnosed as clear cell carcinoma histologically. Simultaneously, tumors were found in the left kidney, the lung, the bone and the gallbladder.
Enhanced abdominal CT revealed hypervascular tumor measuring 10 cm in diameter in the left kidney and strongly enhanced papillary tumor in the gallbladder. Abdominal ultrasonography showed 4.5 cm diameter low echoic solid tumor with high echoic layer on the surface. Abdominal angiography also revealed hypervascular tumor at the fundus of the gallbladder. Therefore we diagnosed it as metastatic gallbladder cancer from renal cell carcinoma. Although the tumor of the left kidney decreased in size by transarterial embolization, the gallbladder tumor increased in size. So we performed left kidney resection and cholecystectomy to prevent cholecystitis.
Histologically, the tumor were filled with clear cell which were similar to the original tumor of the left kidney So, it was diagnosed metastatic gallbladder cancer from renal cell carcinoma, histologically.
