抄録

We report a 46 year-old man of adenosquamous carcinoma of the papilla of Vater which appeared grossly papillary,21 x 17 mm in size. The histology evidenced that squamous cell carcinoma was rather predominant in volume and that the invasion was limited within the sphincter of Oddi. In general it belonged to the category of the early carcinoma, but the lymphnode was involved in metastasis.<BR>Five months after pancre a toduodenectomy multiple metastatic tumors were found in the liver, and the poor prognosis was predicted. This is a rare carcinoma and there were only eight cases reported in the literature of Japan. It ws summarized in the paper, which suggested that the prognosis of this type of carcinoma might be worse than that of the common type.
