Description

Vis activity was evaluated by the measurement of CO2 that was formed from 2-propanol under vis light irradiation in the presence of TiO2.<BR>It was found that plasma-treated ST-01 had the vis activity twice of a rutyl-type TiO2 (JRC-TIO-3). From TEM observation, crystalline size of a rutyl-type TiO2 (JRC-TIO-4) without a vis activity was found to correspond to that calculated according to Scherrer's equation, and the well arranged crystal array in the particle was confirmed. On the other hand, in ST-01, the crystal array was arranged with more turbulence and more amorphous region was observed. It was thought that this crystal condition influenced the vis-activity development.
