Description
The reaction of epoxides with amines in the presence of clays has been investigated. Ring-opening reactions were found to take place by using montmorillonite, bentonite or kaolin. The molar ratio.of products of SN1 and SN2 reactions varied depending on the combination of clay, epoxide and amine.
