説明

The isomerization of a spiropyran adsolubilized in cationic surfactant bilayer formed on colloidal silica was studied. The thermal decoloration of UV-induced merocyanine to spiropyran was observed. at 35°C. The thermal decoloration rate constants in the bilayer decreased with an increase of the. alkyl chain length of the cationic surfactant and were smaller than those in their corresponding micelles. These differences in the rate constants between bilayer and micelles were discussed from the viewpoints of microenvironmental properties in these circumstances in the presence of merocyanine.
