Abstract

An abrasion test apparatus, which abrades specimens with the reciprocal movement of the sample stage, improved making samples for depth profile of coating films. Since the weight losses of a specimen was found to be proportional to the strokes of the sample stage, any depthes were obtained accurately. By the use of this technique, the extent of degradation of weathered coating films was examined successfully.<BR>This technique will be applied to the depth profiling of various coating films.
