Description

A water-in-oil type emulsion was prepared from laccol from Vietnam urushi (Rhus Succedala L.), a protein hydrolyzate, and laccase derived from Myceliophthora, by three-roll mill. We were able to make the paint by enzymatic reaction of urushi which had 80% nonvolatile content and good drying character. The obtained hardened film had high gloss and good physical properties that were characteristic of three-roll mill processing. <BR>The possibility of the usage not as alternative paints of urushi but as general-purpose paints was suggested. This paint is expected as environmentally-friendly paints from the viewpoints of not only the ordinary temperature hardening and organic solvent free but also resources crops and resources planting.
