Abstract

Kinetics of electroless formation of copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) thin film using redox-active surfactant with an azobenzene group (AZPEG) was studied. The amount of the deposited film depends on the mole fraction of AZPEG to mixed redox-inactive surfactant and hydrophile-liophile balance (HLB) value of the redox-inactive surfactant. The amount of the deposited film at optimum concentration of AZPEG decreases with HLB value of AZPEG. These phenomena were ascribed to the difference in the rate of desorption from the surface of the CuPc particle.
