Abstract

Toyama Prefectural Archives which was opened in April, 1987 is a facility to conserve and utilize record information concerning prefectural administration comprehensively. The chapter 2 describes request for its establishment, the plan, the construction and details to the opening. The chapter 3 explains functions of archives, that is information disclosing function in relation to Information Disclosure Act, organization methods such as classification to conserve and utilize historical archival records, the management system to conserve and utilize current archival records. The chapter 4 deals with record management system which supports the Archives. The chapter 5 is concerned with future subjects such as office automation for clerical works of record management.
