Abstract

The main activity of Komatsu Technical Information Center is a support on the information side of the research and development. It introduces the system of those supports and the information retrieval supporting tool for the end user. The individual investigation done by the request of each section has been managed by the benefit principle. There were a lot of requests of a simple retrieval as for the investigation before, too. However, an advanced investigation that adds a more technical and marketing research analysis is being requested now. The information retrieval supporting tool was constructed by applying an existing library management system, was able to achieve a low-cost, high effect.
