Abstract

In addition to online retrieval with alphanumerics and one-byte Japanese Kana, Kanji has become available for online retrieval as part of the function expansion of JOIS. This new service starts in January, 1996. In this paper, an outline of the new service, merits and demerits of the new service, and the online retrieval actually with Kanji are explained.
