Description

The author first shows fundamental requirements of information which is shared on the network environment such as the Internet, and describes that XML enables to represent information in structured manner, and such capacity is extremely all purpose and meets those requirements. He also shows features of XML in terms of its use under decentralized environment on the Internet. Most of problems found in current information sharing on the Internet with formats of HTML can be solved using XML. He presents a sharing system of papers by use of RDF (Resource Description Framework) as case study of problem solving by XML.
