説明

Gastric juice of 74 volunteers suffering from infectious diarrhoea was examined and the following results were obtained.
1) This disease shows symptoms of Boas's gastric acida and increase in acidity of gastric juice.
2) Resistances of this virus to acid and alkali are ph. 4.63 and 11.00 respectively, and are similar to most other virus.
3) The number of leukocytes, especially polymorphonuculear leukocytes, in gastric juice increases remarkably at the onset.
4) The infection is inhibited to some extent by sufficient contents of hydrochloric acid and gastric juice plays an important role in spontaneous infection.
5) When the virus was introduced directly into the duodenum by the duodenal tube, it was observed that the period of incubation was shortened, the percentage of infection was increased and general symptoms worsened.
6) This virus has no affinity to mice, dogs and cats.
