Abstract

In February 2009, the Yomiuri Shimbun launched “YOMIDAS REKISHIKAN (YOMIDASU history museum)”, a database enabling users to search and browse the newspaper articles published over 135 years since its inauguration. The database is equipped with a search support system “YOMIDAS YOGO JISHO (YOMIDAS glossary)”. This article reports on the structure of the glossary and article indexing using the glossary, improvement in search accuracy with the indexed keywords.
