Abstract
This paper aims at clarifying how the adjacent sea was shared in Omori district where Nori farming flourished from Edo period to 1962. In this paper, the general history concerning the adjacent sea in Omori would be reviewed in the first part. In the second part, the fishery town will be analyzed, focusing on the distribution of the fishery houses, the position of Nori farming places on the sea and the usage of the riverside place. In the third part, the method of distribution of Nori farming places within Omori fishery association will be clarified. Through these studies, this paper clarifies that the common use of the adjacent sea had been kept by 1. common and sustainable use of interfacial space, 2.equitable distribution system of farming places and 3. laws which provide sustainability of resources.
