Abstract

The Ajinomoto Co. had set up its own ADRES (Ajinomoto Document Retrieval System) in 1971 (Aoki, M., this Journal, March 1974), and based on these experiences the JOISservice was introduced and replaced the ADRES in March 1978. The internal service procedures, usage and problems are described.
