Description

Based on the characteristics of geochemistry of volcanic rocks, Mirdita ophiolite are divided into western Mirdita ophiolite and eastern Mirdita ophiolite. The western part contains MORB-type volcanics, on the other hand, eastern contains SSZ-type volcanics. Gomsiqe massif is composed of mainly lherzolite, gabbro, dunite, orthopyrozenite. Puke massif is composed of mainly highly deformed plagioclase lherzolite, gabbro, troctolite, harzburgite, dunite. It is possible to explain that lherzolite in gomsiqe has experienced 5-13% partial melting. On the other hand, peridotite in  puke massif has influenced by melt impregnation.<br>
