Description
In an airport, currently, the controller identifies a type of airplane and confirms a position of the body on the ground. When the controller cannot distinct an aircraft of a distant place by the influence of fog, he confirms a position of the body and controls the traffics of aircraft by the aid of the airport surface detection equipment (ASDE). However, resolving power of a microwave radar is insufficient, confirmation of the position of a body is possible, but distinction of the type of an aircraft is impossible. Also the monitoring of airplanes by the naked eye becomes a big burden to the controller. On account of this reason, a new system which can detect the position and the type of an airplane on the surface of ground has been demanded. In this study, development of a semiconductor laser radar system which can discriminate the type of an aircraft with sufficient resolution of direction and distance is intended.
