Abstract
The authors reported that the human perception is enhanced for the repetitive pulsed light even over the critical fusion frequency (CFF) by using fast turn-on and turn-off light such as LEDs. However, the color shift of the pulsed LED may affect the observer's decision. The authors tried separating the effect of the color shift from statistically derived value of human perception enhancement degree. The color shift was quantified by CIELAB color space. As an example of the experiments, the effect of the pulsed operation itself was obtained when blue LED is used for illumination of objects.
