抄録

The cutterhead is one of the most important parts of a cutter suction dredger. Authors have been developped a calculation method to analyze the cutterhead force, torque and power. First, some equations for the locus of the cutter, cutting thickness and etc.. are introduced in this paper. Next, the method to calculate the cutting force, which is extended from the horizontally cutting mechanism by flat plate, is described. To correlate between the calculated values and experimental data, authors have done some cutting experiments. Measured cutter torque and swing force in cutting experiments are good agreement with the calculated values by described method in this paper.
