The purpose of this research is to realize a new thin tube actuator leading endoscopes safely and easily to desired narrow spaces such as in colon or in pipes. In this report, a new principle of pneumatic rubber tube actuator is proposed. Applying pneumatic pulse flow into a thin rubber tube causes traveling waves of elastic deformation of the rubber, which drives the endoscopes. The basic experimental results of this actuator are shown.
