Description
We have found that the addition of Pt to NiO-MgO solid solution catalyst improved methane oxidative steam reforming activity especially at shorter contacting time though NiO-MgO itself was not suitable for the reaction due to the low reducibility. The effect of Pt addition was not clear yet from the measurement of temperature-programmed reduction, but the remarkable effect such as the self activation without H2 pretreatment was obtained. Further characterization is necessary to make the effect of Pt addition clear.
