Description

The effect of antioxidant on the improvement of oxidation stability of biodiesel and biodiesel/diesel mixture was examined. The addition of large amount of antioxidant was needed to keep high oxidation stability of biodiesel/diesel mixed fuel with high concentration of biodiesel. The species of the most suitable antioxidant which keeps high oxidation stability of mixed fuel depended on the biodiesel/diesel ratio. It was proved that the addition of small amount of antioxidant to hydrogenated BDF was very effective for improvement of oxidation stability and it is possible to reduce the amount of antioxidant.
