Abstract
In the present study, dislocation behaviors in the gamma/gamma-prime microstructure of Ni-based superalloys are investigated by means of molecular dynamics (MD) and discrete dislocation (DD) dynamics simulations. MD results show that a dislocation is not pinned at the gamma/gamma-prime interface but with the stress field around the gamma-prime precipitates. A DDD--FEM analysis is then implemented to evaluate the stress field correctly and treat the image force on dislocations from surfaces and precipitates. The result shows that a dislocation is decelerated and piled at the inteface of the matrix/precipitate with the stress field.
