Abstract
The method to evaluate systems consequences due to the functional impairment of critical infrastructure (CI) in views of seismic disaster risks was developed. First, subjecting a socio-economical system strongly dependent upon the function of CI, the damage of CI during a seismic event which affects the subject system, was clarified. Second, the degree of each consequence due to the damage of CI was classified into three to five cases, in addition, the probability corresponding to each case was modeled as the Poisson distribution and the damage cost as the Gamma distribution. Finally, the cumulative probability distribution associated with of total damage cost could be derived by adopting the compound Poisson to be used as a risk profile. Case studies in dealing with the communication systems sustaining the enterprise of a private company affected by the functional impairment of critical infrastructure were done.
