Abstract
Nonlinear ultrasonic testing has shown promise as a nondestructive method used in nuclear power plants and in other important industries. However, the mechanism of generation of subharmonics and higher harmonics is not well understood. In this research, we investigate dynamic contact problems of solid-solid interfaces with stick-slip boundary conditions and initial gap conditions subjected to SV and P incident waves to simulate higher-harmonics using an inproved time-domain BEM in 2-D elastodynamics.
