Description
Between tumor growth and angiogenesis are closely related. While the blood vessels supply nutrition to support growth of cancer cells, cancer cells induces blood vessels simultaneously. Thus they grow by interacting each other. As the tumor is difficult to observe, clarifying the phenomenon using numerical simulation is desired. In this study, a three-dimensional particle model is introduced to simulate the growth of cancer cells and angiogenesis and to analyze the relationship between them. The analysis confirmed the growth of the tumor vascular network formed with the growth of cancer cells. Adding the assumptions on the effect of the internal pressure, blood vessel network was confirmed to be formed near the tumor surface.
