Description
Transient drag forces acting on a square prism with several angles of attack
in quickly change of wind speed like a step function were measured
experimentally by towing tank equipment. As results of this study, it was
clarified that an aerodynamic transient drag force was consistent as a summation
of three kinds of forces; a dynamic pressure force, an inertia force controlled
by a non-dimensional acceleration ratio, and a force produced by forming
the flow field around the prism. Moreover, it was indicated that the behaviors
of these forces were almost the same in the different initial conditions, such as
a quiescent state and blowing wind states.
