Abstract
The Tatara Bridge was completed in 1999 as the world's longest cable-stayed bridge with the main span of 890 m. Since this bridge has the longest stay cables are approximately 470 meters long, various wind tunnel tests for stay cables carried out. As a result, an indent cable was newly developed and it was applied to the Tatara Bridge for the first time around the world. However, the effect of indent cable is not necessarily evaluated, because the stay cables are not under a long-term observation. In order to verify the effect of the indent cable against the rain-induced vibration, field observation was carried out at the Tatara Bridge. In this paper, the results of field observation for the indent stay cable of the Tatara Bridge are described as the first report.
