Description

Magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) is a technique for quantitative and noninvasive assessment of tissue elasticity. Fast imaging is required for breath-hold imaging to reduce the influence of abdominal motion. Spin-echo echo-planner imaging (SE-EPI) is an ultra fast imaging technique which is useful for three-dimensional image acquisition. However, the magnetic field inhomogeneity induce image distortion and artifacts. Additionally, there is a problem with low signal to noise ratio (SNR) of MR image. On the other hand, gradient echo imaging (GRE) can obtain high SNR of shear wave image with less distortion and artifacts whereas a long imaging time. In this study, we compared of imaging method for MRE using SE-EPI and GRE at in-vivo abdominal region. Phantom and in-vivo study were performed to evaluate SNR of shear wave images and shear modulus maps.
