Description
Affine projection based orientation procedures are presented for middle and large scale mapping from satellite line scanner images. The affine projection model is far better adaptable to satellite sensors which are featured by a narrow view angle than conventional central perspective models. And it has an advantage of not needing precise orbital information in orientation. The paper summarizes a sequence of the theories and verifies their validity with experiments on SPOT and MOMS stereo images, in which half a pixel accuracy was obtained for both the images with minimum required (4-9) GCPs.
