Abstract
This study is intended to establish maintenance technique of the ceramic siding as external finishing. It is well known that the outer wall is important to protect indoor environment from external environment, deterioration factors including a temperature change, rain, etc. However maintenance technique of ceramic siding has not been established yet. Authors carried out exposure test using full scale house with ceramic sidings as external finishing in order to grasp its behavior. Authors particularly focused on the behavior of the joint of siding that is the weak point of the outer wall, examined the influence of temperature and humidity on the joint movement. Finally, authors proposed methods of calculate the joint thermal movement based on temperature of sidings and air.
