抄録

The generalized slope deflection coefficients for the struts subjected to axial force and bending moment in elastoplastic range are calculated by numerical integration with following assumptions: 1) The member has a uniform rectangular cross section. 2) The stress strain relation of material is ideal elastoplastic one and the hysteresis effect is ignored. 3) The plane of cross section remains plane after deformation and curvature is small. The coefficients in the case for P/P_y=0.4 and P/P_e=0.015, in which P is existing axial force, P_y is yield force of the cross section and P_e is Euler load for hinged ends condition, are indicated in two charts. These are valid for a short column and its slenderness ratio is obtained as about seventeen from a chart for mild steel columns. Then the deformation characteristics of short columns subjected to horizontal shear force for several axial force conditions are discussed and the simplest examples are illustrated for applications of analysis.
