Abstract

In Japanese construction industry fields, powder coating has been noticed as a coating system that is taken into cosideration environment. Polyester powder coating has been applied to not only interior but also exterior in many buildings in foreign contries. In Europe, quality of the powder coating has been evaluated and certified by test methods suggested by QAULICOAT headquater. However, it is not clear that the method is proper or not to evaluate quality of buiding materials in Japan. And durability evaluation data for building exterior powder coating is not sufficient. Therefore, Japan Aluminum Products Association has constituted a reserch committee for durability of powder coating on aluminum alloy building materials in order to promote the research. And a research working group for evaluation of the powder coating and the other invetigation working group for durability of the powder coating have been estblished under the committee. In this paper, accelerated deterioration test results are discussed.
