Description

Tei Kimura employed the projection drawing with three orthographic views (front, side and plan) in "Western Furniture Drawings Catalog" (1929-30). He mainly used combinations of front and side views, except for tables where he used all the three views. Furthermore, shades were added to the front and side views, so they could look three dimensional. In "New Japanese Empire Style Furniture Drawings Catalog" (1936-37) Kimura introduced the pseudo two-point perspective drawing with shades to almost half of the drawings in the catalog, and for the rest he continued to use the projection drawing. All these were done for the clients to understand whole images of furniture more easily.<br>
