Description
A new evaluation technique has been developed for characterization of slurry compressibility by using constant pressure filtration. In order to estimate the packing fraction of formed cake, we modified Ruth's equation and experimental results were analyzed by using the modified equation based on not the filtrate but on the particle volume of formed cake. It was shown that cake packing fractions estimated by this modified equation agreed well with those obtained by measuring the volume and weight of formed cake.
