Abstract
This research aims to estimate the amount of CO2 emission from construction work and civil engineering in prefectures and CO2 emission from construction work in all-Japan municipalities. In 2004, municipalities that have emitted huge amount of CO2 are located in The Pacific Belt Zone. Comparing with 2004 emission with 1990 in 723 cities and wards, 96 (13%) cities and wards are increasing emission, and 627(87%) cities and wards are decreasing emission. It is clear that far many cities and wards are decreasing emission than increasing cities and wards.
