Abstract
In Arabidopsis, phototropism is induced by blue light (BL), UV-A and green light (GL). BL-photoreceptors, Phototropins (phot1 and phot2) mediate BL-induced phototropism, and were analyzed in detail. But little is known about GL-induced phototropism. To understand the GL-induced phototropism, we analyzed the phototropism of BL-photoreceptors mutants and phototropic mutants. The phot1 expressed in vitro exhibits absorbance of UV-A/BL, however GL absorbance has never been reported. Other BL photoreceptor, cryptochrome1 (cry1) involved in photomorphogenesis, absorbs BL and GL. We consider that crys were candidate of phototropic GL-photoreceptors. The phot1 and nph3 shows impaired hypocotyls phototropism in response to BL and GL. The phot2 and cry mutants exhibit normal phototropism under BL and GL. Phototropic mutant rpt2 shows impaired phototropism in response to BL, but not to GL. The differences between BL and GL-induced phototropism will be discussed.
