Abstract
The shaking table test was done to study basic characteristics concerning the earthquake response of a building allowing uplift, by using the scaled models of buildings with large aspect ratio The specimen was 1/9 scale and one by one-span four-story frame model Span in the direction of excitation was 1m The aspect ratio was varied about 3 5 and about 7 by making the support spacing a half Simulation analysis of the shaking table test was also performed in order to verify the seismic response analysis method of a building allowing uplift The following conclusions were obtained by this study The story-shearing force does not increase so much even if the input level increases when the uplift occurs The seismic response analysis results of both the uplift restrained and allowed specimens show good correspondence with the experimental results
