Description
This study deals with orbital transfer of a Tethered Satellite System (TSS) into the desired orbit by changing the tether length and cutting the tether. In coplanar motion of a TSS, its pitch angle, pitch angular rate, and tether length should be simultaneously controlled at specified position on orbit, for the desired orbital transfer. In this study, the state equation is described as non-holonomic system with drift term and time-varying coefficient. This paper proposes a feedback control law for the system, and discusses its effectiveness through numerical simulations.
