Description
There have been important improvements in the domain of precision engineering in the last years. Because of the advances of machining technologies especially machining accuracy, miniaturization of some industrial products became possible, so that needs on small products has been increasing.Shearing, which is known to be a stable process with a high productivity, still has a large application field but its applications are expected to become more and more important. Many studies on punch processing have been done especially around 1950, but recently, the definition of ″thin sheet metal″ has changed, so there are not enough experiments data on sheet metal which thickness is under 0,5mm (current definition of thin metal sheet). Studies on clearance and tool misalignment have been done in this research and currently, a new processing method – vibration-assisted process – is introduced. The main objective of this study is to make clear the influence of vibrations on manufacturing performances.
