Description
The theoretical analysis of friction torque of crossed roller bearings has been developed considering the contacts between surface roughness asperities, traction under hydro dynamic lubrication, rolling resistance force and elastic hysteresis. The friction torque characteristics of a bearing with roller pitch diameter 124mm are studied. The major friction factor is the contacts between surface roughness asperities at low speeds and is the rolling resistance force at middle and high speeds. Traction under hydro dynamic lubrication and elastic hysteresis are confirmed to be minor and especially the later is also found to be negligible.
