Abstract

This paper proposes a system that provides a user with information related to a TV program, without interfering with his/her TV watching. There exist several services that provide a user with information while watching TV. However, most of the services force users to input query. Furthermore, the presented information is not dynamically synchronized with the TV contents. Those drawbacks interfere with user's TV watching. In order to develop the information providing service without interfering user's TV watching, the proposed system aims to select and present information in synchronization with the real-time TV contents. It also employs a robot for providing users with additional information such as the degree of recommendation for the presented information, by robot's nonverbal behavior. This paper reports the results of preliminary experiments for realizing the proposed system, including the design of robot behavior and the synchronization of information presentation and TV contents.
