Abstract
Use of human's emotion is one of the keys for high performance human-machine interface. As human's emotion is changed second by second, real-time emotional estimation is important in practical applications. We implement the facial muscle based emotional estimation system into a dedicated hardware using FPGA and investigate the performance in real-time operation. We discuss the possibility of the system through experimental results for emotional facial video images.
