Abstract

This study intends to discuss the direction of organization of the neighborhood landscape in Osaka based on the behavioral approach. 4 elementary school districts were choosen as the case study by land use characteristic analysis. Resident's cognitions to total images, positive and negative elements concerning to neighborhood landscape were investigated by interview survey at each district. And the conditions of physical environment, land use as building use, road use, park and open space use, and green coverage were checked to corespond with resident's cognitions. As the results, shortage of natural atomospher, difference of cognition to public and private green, and relations between negative elements to neiborhood landscape and land use type were pointed out.
