Abstract
We synthesized novel molecular pieces possessing two carboxyl groups and an amide group in them. We expected that tubular superstructures were constructed by self-assembly of these molecules using the two kind of intermolecular hydrogen-bonds. As we expected, these compounds exhibited columnar hexagonal phases. Their phase transition behaviors were investigated by polarized light optical microscopy and differential scanning calorimetry. Furthermore, their tubular superstructures were analyzed by X-ray diffraction.
