Description
Since Romania's change from socialism to democracy in 1989, remote areas have been neglected, with subsistence and stock farmers in these areas struggling to survive in the new system. Before 1989, even rural areas were under the governmental control of economic scheme. Inhabitants would commute to the town for work, using buses scheduled by the planned economy. They could also obtain additional income from selling milk collected every day.<BR>My analysis focuses on how small business initiatives may help change the rural life style and revitalize these areas, resolving the current reliance on migrant worker family members for supplementary income.
