Abstract

The "interorganizational relations" in the global strategic alliance was discussed. The cases of Sharp's global alliances are analyzed. Sharp has partnered Hon Hai of Taiwan. The joint venture to co-operate LCD factory produced good results. However, the investment to Sharp was failed because Sharp refused to license the promising technology. As the result, Sharp formed partnership with Samsung, Apple etc. Then, Sharp have agreed with China's CEC to license the technology and establish joint-venture. What determine the success or failure of global strategic alliance? What determine the license? The global strategic alliance were discussed from the viewpoint of "interorganizational relations"
