本発表は、南アジア地域における贈与に関する先行研究を踏まえて、インド、グジャラート州のマヘサナ県に位置するヒンドゥー女神バフチャラー寺院に巡礼する人々と、その巡礼者を寺院で待ち構える女神の帰依者ヒジュラとが係わり合う契機となる贈与の意義を明らかにすることを目的とする。
