Abstract
It is necessary to consider the effects of effluent loads from various land uses other than agricultural area in order to establish water management in agricultural area for water quality conservation. But, the integral investigations are not sufficient, and the changes in concentrations of water qualities of the river water and its ion balance have not been discussed adequately. Monitoring of the amounts and the water qualities of discharged water from various land uses in rural area (paddy field, crop-rotated paddy field, forest, residential area, and rural sewage treatment plant) is conducted including rainfall events. The results show the different characteristics of concentration and ion balance of each discharged water. The water qualities of downstream river are affected by paddy field, crop-rotated paddy field, and sewage treat water. Contributions of effluent load from each land use in the total catchment to downstream river water differ depending on substances in water.
